Change your filters!

Before getting into Home Inspection, I was an HVAC Technician.  I can't tell you how many times I was called out into the frozen night air to restore heat to a customer's home, only to find the problem to be a dirty, plugged up air filter.

The company I worked for charged time-and-a-half, which means the customer was charged $110.00 for the minimum 1 hour labor charge and a whopping $3.00 for the air filter!   Think about that....2 minutes worth of work, a $3.00 air filter and it cost the customer $113.00!!!

I share this with you as a reminder that if you have an A/C unit and/or a forced hot air furnace, you have a filter that needs checked often and changed regularly.  This is the LEAST expensive and MOST important maintenance responsibility you have  with your furnace and A/C.

The nights are getting cooler now, and soon it will be time to fire up the heat.  I'll leave you with one more tidbit of advice along with changing your filters.  DON'T do what so many do and wait until the first VERY cold night to see if your furnace is working!!  Check it NOW.....BEFORE that first blast of old man winter hits.  If you don't, you may end up huddled around the oven until your very busy heating contractor calls your number!

A word to the's coming!!!
